I took this on this day in 2009.

A case for cropping: The purist among us will say that cropping is “cheating.” A photograph should be composed properly in frame and not require cropping.
Well, in this case, I didn’t have my macro lens handy, and who wants to take the chance of getting stung by intruding on a bee’s personal space. Not I!

Here is the original frame. I also added a vignette and a softening glow.
