Please help me choose today’s photograph. As you know, I like to select the Daily Photograph from images I shot on this day, usually previous years.
It’s fun to look back and see where I was and what I was into in previous years. It also forces me to look a photographs that maybe didn’t impress me previously, or ones that can use a little help to reach their potential.
Well, today there are three, and since this is My Daily Photograph (singular), I need to pick one for today.
All three were taken on Coronado Island in 2009.
That’s where you come in. Please help. I value your input…
The white Iris looks as though you added the ethereal glow via software retouching. Still, it looks very good and is the prettiest of the photos you offered which is why it is my pick. Did you spray the flower with water to help give it a velvet sheen? Do you recall which lens you used? Did you use a tripod?
Best wishes,
Father Dan
Father Dan,
Yes, the ethereal glow was applied in Photoshop. I have my own technique for this.
No, I did not spray the flower. It was photographed as found.
My standard kit lens set at 135mm f/9 at 1/500th. No tripod used.
